The 2008 PRISCA was held on
Monday, 24th November. See here
for a full report!
The Primary Schools Citizenship Awards
(or PRISCA) are an initiative of the Burwood Rotaract group
to recognise local primary school students who have shown
initiative and a special concern for others, to make them
particularly good citizens both in and out of school. This
is not an academic award but one that recognises the
exceptional qualities a student displays that help build
your school’s community. The qualities we are seeking
include:
• Leadership skills and personal initiative
• A positive caring attitude and encouraging of others
• Reliable and trustworthy
• Active participant in school and community events
• Co-operative behaviour towards staff and the school
community in general
Each of the nominated students along
with their parents and teachers are invited to an awards
dinner at Burwood RSL. On the night every student is
presented with an award and a gift voucher and dinner is
served by Rotary members. We use the event to raise money
for a charity focusing on children, this is done by selling
raffle tickets for prizes that are donated by local
businesses.
This year is the 16th Annual Primary
Schools Citizenship Awards. The presentation evening was
held at Burwood RSL Club on Monday, 24th November, 2008.
