Where’s Dory???

Are you ready to see the unforgettable film she’s never going to remember?

Taking place six months after Finding Nemo, Dory suddenly recalls her childhood memories. Remembering something about “the jewel of Morro Bay, California”, and accompanied by Nemo and Marlin, she sets out to find her family. She arrives at the Monterey Marine Life Institute, where she meets Bailey, a white beluga whale; Destiny, a whale shark; and Hank, an octopus, who becomes her guide.

Come and experience this fantastic film together with the Burwood Rotaractors, and help us to raise funds for the Starlight Foundation!

Starlight’s mission is “To brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families”.  Since 1988, the Starlight foundation has partnered with Australian health professionals to develop programs based on positive psychology principles that support the ‘total care’ of children and teens in need of assistance.

The Starlight Foundation is an integral part of a complete health care system, and works in partnership with healthcare professionals.

Starlight’s programs are underpinned by the World Health Organisation’s (WHO’s) model of social health – improving mental and social wellbeing has a positive impact on overall physical health.

Research shows sick kids and teens face different challenges to adult patients and are entitled to play, imagine and dream so they can continue to develop physically, mentally and socially.

As families are the main source of support for sick kids, Starlight’s programs facilitate family-centred connections to help care for the whole family unit.

Their programs embrace the principles of positive psychology where fun is an important factor in contributing to overall wellbeing. They provide distraction from fear and pain, help sick kids create positive emotions, encourage social interaction, assist with identity formation and build self-esteem. They empower young people to embrace their uniqueness and creativity.
